Farmers’ Market Set to Become a Regular Date in Carnoustie

The Angus Farmers’ Market has announced its first-ever market in Carnoustie, which is set to become a regular location going into 2023.

The farmer’s market will take place on October 2 at the old Kinloch School site from 9am until 1pm and it is free to attend as well as being dog-friendly.

The market will open up a wide selection of tasty food and drink, as well as having arts and crafts stalls set up, providing an opportunity to get creative.

This will be the first time the market has come to Carnoustie and will aim to celebrate the best local talent from the area.

Angus Farmers’ Market is one of the longest-running markets in Scotland, with the first market taking place on July 10, 1999 in the Myre, Forfar.

The stallholders who take part are primarily Angus-based; however many come from further afield like Aberdeenshire, Fife and Perthshire to provide a wide range of products to local consumers.

The market is not only about food but also provides a platform for “makers” of items, such as homemade soap, jewellery, woollen items and artwork.

A spokesman for Angus Farmers’ Market said: “We are very grateful to Carnoustie Community Council for giving us permission to use the old Kinloch site and for Angus Council granting us our market operator licence.

“We will also be running a farmers’ market in November as part of the Christmas light switch-on event too.”
