Doors Open Days - Get Involved
Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates places and stories, new and old, welcoming visitors from all over the world since 1990.
Doors Open Days will take place in Angus on 13 & 14 September 2025.

How can I get involved?
In order to participate, venues must meet the following criteria:
• Entrance must be free during Doors Open Days
• You must offer something during Doors Open Days which is not normally available at your venue (including free entry if it is normally payable)
• Your venue must celebrate Scotland’s places and/or stories, old and new
• Your event must take place during the Doors Open Days weekend – 13 & 14 September 2025
In order to participate, please complete the online form with details of your venue and what is on.
Some suggested activities you could consider for your venue are:
- Show your visitors around with a guided tour
- Offer behind-the-scenes access to private areas
- Get active with a walking trail or treasure hunt
- Travel back in time with historical re-enactments
- Teach new skills with a conservation workshop
- Wow your visitors with a pop up performance
- Get your hands dirty with family friendly crafts
- Host a drop in object handling session
- Offer a taste of what you do with cooking workshops
- Transport your visitors with a storytelling session

The deadline for submitting your events is Sunday 22 June 2025.
Events will be hosted online on both the Visit Angus website and the national Doors Open Days website.
The Angus programme will be launched by Visit Angus w/c Monday 4 August, and the national programme will be launched by Scottish Civic Trust on Friday 1 August.
