Angus Trusted Trader Scheme

Angus businesses are being encouraged to find out more about the Angus Trusted Trader scheme as Angus Trading Standards attempt to crack down on doorstep crime.

The scheme, supported by Police Scotland, enables residents of Angus to search a directory of reputable, vetted, local businesses, covering trades and services from plumbers, electricians and roofers to accountants and taxis.

Angus Trusted Trader supports local businesses who promote good practice and reliable services and aims to increase business credibility and visibility, whilst increasing customer confidence in finding a reputable service.

Become a Trusted Trader in Angus

Being a Trusted Trader tells customers that you provide a reliable service and follow our code of practice.

You’ll be able to use the Angus Trusted Trader branding to promote your business on materials and vehicles and link to the scheme on the Angus Council website.

Feature on a searchable directory, with information about your services, business address and contact information.

Use customers reviews reviews to provide confidence in your service and attract further business.

You’ll increase your business credibility with the assurance that, following a pre-entry assessment that you are joining a credible scheme that is committed to upholding high standards of customer service.

Angus Trusted Trader is promoted on the Angus Council website, in our publications, via social media accounts, and through ongoing marketing promotions.

All traders part of the Angus Trusted Trader scheme have to meet a strict criteria to become a member. Businesses are fully vetted by the Council’s Trading Standards team who regularly examine business practices, monitor reviews and feedback, and will intervene in disputes when required.

Traders who wish to become part of the scheme, must have been trading for a minimum of six-months and pay an annual membership fee of £240 including VAT to cover the cost of administration, maintaining the online database and feedback systems, along with ongoing advertising and promotion to the public.

Angus Trusted Trader is open to all home improvement trades and most services, excluding food and hospitality.
