Arbikie Distillery Offer Accommodation with OOD Mirrored Cabins

Arbikie distillery, located near Lunan Bay in Montrose in the north east, has announced the opening of four mirrored cabins on their Highland estate.

Created by ÖÖD, an Estonia-based company that specialises in nature-focused houses, three of the cabins have privates saunas and all allow for guests to explore the environment in which the distillery is situated.

Posting on their social media, the team at Arbikie wrote: “We can finally announce the opening of our fantastic @oodhouses on the Arbikie Highland Estate. Experience the best of both worlds at ÖÖD by Arbikie – where rustic charm meets modern luxury on Scotland’s rugged East Coast.

“Immerse yourself in our Arbikie Experience, where you can stay in one of four mirrored cabins and explore the distillery and surrounding areas of Angus.

“Three of our houses come with private saunas, providing you with the perfect space to relax and rejuvenate. For that extra touch of indulgence, one of our houses features a hot tub, where you can soak under the starlit Scottish sky, creating memories that will last a lifetime.”

The opening of the cabins comes at a time when whisky tourism is at a peak, with Scotch whisky visitor centres ranked as Scotland’s top visitor attraction after topping two million visitors in 2022.

The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) said the result signalled a recovery to pre-pandemic levels. Figures show Scotch whisky visitor centres collectively have risen to become the top visitor attraction in Scotland, with footfall more than doubling (114 per cent) compared to 2021.

Arbikie distillery was set up in 2014 by three brothers – John, Iain and David – who grew up on the family farm. One of Scotland’s few field to bottle distilleries, Arbikie distillery makes climate positive Nadar gin, vodka and rye whisky.

In 2022 the team opened their distillery experience with tours and tastings focusing on whisky, gin and vodka and cocktail making.
