Success Story - Angus 3D Solutions
Angus 3D Solutions applied for our Business Improvement Grant, which was funded by the Scottish Government via the Discretionary Fund which supported businesses during Covid.
About the business
Angus 3D Solutions Ltd is a leading Prototype & Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) company.
Whether an individual, small business or operating globally they tailor solutions for specific projects from the early concept stage to products going into production and on to market. They provide a local service to clients in Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Angus, Fife & Aberdeenshire, but work daily with clients throughout Scotland and the UK.
Their focus is on reducing time-to-market, mitigating risks and saving costs for clients’ reverse-engineering, design, rapid prototype and production requirements by using both Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) and Traditional Manufacturing technology.
Outcomes from the BIG Fund
“Resulting from a successful application to the Business Improvement Grant from Angus Council, we purchased our new WAZER waterjet cutter and were able to reduce work having to be outsourced, saving time and reducing our environmental impact. There have also been cost reductions amounting to approximately 20% on parts, which is an excellent saving for a small business like ours.
The machine now allows us to offer this service to other small local businesses, (for example cutting glass and slate to make gift items) and are also using it to make parts for one of our industrial customers who manufacture drones. This is all business we could not have secured without this equipment.
It has allowed us to offer an additional service that we could not offer previously and will allow us to continue with our future growth.
Because of new business we were able to increase our headcount by one and have employed a Modern Apprentice. Ritchie has settled in well and is already a valuable member of our team.”
