College Offers Free Cyber Security Course
Dundee and Angus College recently suffered a serious digital attack and, having successfully overcome this, it is keen to share its learning quickly and as widely as possible.
Simon Hewitt, Vice Principal of D&A College, says, “Despite having a high level of cyber protection, we were recently victims of a sophisticated attack so we understand – more than most – this can happen to anyone, even when they believe they’ve taken every precaution.
“We are eager to share what we have learned from this experience to help protect others so I am proud to invite everyone in the local community to enrol onto our new cyber security digital skills course, completely free of charge.
“This course ‘Discover Digital @D&A’ is open to everyone in the region. It is based on the UK Government’s Essential Digital Skills framework and is designed to provide users with the digital skills required to keep them safe online.
“At Dundee & Angus College we are 100% aware that cyber security begins at home. We want to deter cyber criminals before they cross the digital doorstep in future by swiftly sharing our own trouble-shooting techniques with all our neighbours, region-wide.”
The course is delivered online and you need to register by 1 May and complete it by 31 July 2020.
