Getting Residents on Their Feet with Get Active Arbroath
In early 2021, a travel challenge initiative called Get Active Arbroath is set to be delivered. Through this, Arbroath residents and employees from local workplaces will be encouraged to download the BetterPoints app and use it to convert their walking, cycling and running activities into rewards.
The Get Active Arbroath challenge aims to help Arbroath residents and employees engage in a more active lifestyle when travelling into and around the town. Participation will involve downloading the free BetterPoints app, which will track and reward walking, cycling and running activities.
Participants will be able to join the app from 18 January ready to start the challenge, which runs from 1 February 2021 – 12 March 2021.
• In advance of this, the Get Active Arbroath team is seeking expressions of interest from local employers who would like to encourage employees who are usually based in Arbroath to participate in the challenge.
• Businesses offering goods and services from premises in Arbroath can also get involved and benefit by raising their profile and driving footfall. The Get Active Arbroath team encourage local businesses to get in touch if they are interested in appearing in the app-based rewards catalogue or supporting the challenge in some other way.
Interest in the challenge has already been really strong and the Get Active Arbroath team would love to build on this! To learn more or express interest in getting involved, contact the Get Active Arbroath team via email: getactivearbroath@ansonsconsulting.com
Get Active Arbroath is supported by Angus Council and the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce. It has been funded by Smarter Choices Smarter Places, which is Paths for All’s programme to increase active and sustainable travel throughout Scotland. The programme is grant-funded by Transport Scotland.
