Alison Henderson, Chief Executive Officer, Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce commented:
“It’s been really inspiring to give organisations this platform to showcase their impact on our local area. Being a host during the judging was really moving – the passion shown by all of our applicants and finalists is testament to these talented people working with a clear vision and purpose in their businesses. The impact of them all is clear to see and I’m so proud of everyone who was involved.”
Hilary Roberts, Manager, Developing the Young Workforce Dundee & Angus commented:
“I was delighted to be asked to be on the judging panel to help choose this year’s Chamber Champion. All the finalists were obviously very passionate about what they do and the area they are based in so it was very difficult to choose a winner. It was lovely to see so many businesses who are true advocates for Dundee and Angus demonstrating not only how they grow their own business, but also support the community around them.”
Craig Lawson, Business Development Manager, STV said:
“STV are delighted to be part of the Chamber Business Champion Award. The STV Growth Fund was launched to drive economic growth and the membership prize will allow the winner to capitalise on the unrivalled connection STV has with consumers, every month STV reaches 86% of Scots. It was a pleasure to be on the panel, we heard from great local businesses from across the Dundee and Angus region.”
Over 150 local businesses attended the lunch, which heard from Steve Dunlop, CEO at Scottish Enterprise. Steve spoke about the work of Scottish Enterprise and his priorities for the organisation. Scottish Enterprise are committed to growing the Scottish economy for the benefit of all, helping create more quality jobs and a brighter future for every region – and in our area have been working extremely hard to deliver a future for the Michelin site which involves working closely with government and the private sector to deliver positive change.
