Growing Firm to Open Doors at New Base in Muirhead
Award-winning farm services firm CT Scott will show off its base near Dundee at an open day later this month.
The company has moved its Angus operation from Glamis to a site near Muirhead, just a few miles north-west of the city on the Angus border.
Its new base is quadruple the size of the old one and a recruitment drive will soon be under way to add more staff to the existing four-strong team.
Three of the existing staff members switched to CT Scott when they acquired the stock, assets and lease for the West Adamston site from Agrovista UK.
CT Scott took over the former Agrovista Muirhead site and an 8,600sq feet of commercial space – including a depot, yard, workshop, store and parts department – earlier this year and are keen to show it off.
Th firm’s open day is on Thursday November 27, with farm machinery demonstrations for visitors as well as some leading agricultural manufacturers in attendance.
CT Scott is owned and run by husband-and-wife duo Craig and Emma Scott and was launched on a full-time basis in August 2016.
The firm – which has its main base in Insch, Aberdeenshire – won Machinery Dealer of the Year at the 2023 Scottish Agricultural Awards.
Now a £4.5 million-plus turnover company, it employs 10 full-time and three part-time workers.
The relocation to larger premises in Angus comes hot-on-the-heels of an expansion at the Insch site.
A greatly expanded shop there has seen product lines swell by 20%.
And the local team has grown by two employees during the past year.
CT Scott’s range covers everything from animal husbandry and forestry equipment to hand tools, outdoor and protective clothing, footwear, vehicle care products and more.
The firm is also the sole Scottish importer and distributor of AgLeader GPS equipment and is the main dealer for Polaris all-terrain and utility task vehicles in the north-east.
An additional open day at the Insch site will be held two days after the Angus event, on Saturday November 29, and will feature a Polaris “ride and drive” event.
On the recent expansion in Angus, a delighted Mr Scott said: “This move gives us an opportunity to grow our presence in and beyond the area.
“The addition of our Dundee parts department will enable us to better support our customer base, and underline our commitment to the local community by bringing a broad range of products and parts to their doorstep.”
Ambitious Mr Scott added: “Our expansion across both locations is a clear indication of our long commitment to the farming industry.
“It is important that we position our business correctly to support the communities in which we operate.”
