Have Your Say on the Scottish Business Pledge
The Scottish Government recognises the importance of Scotland’s businesses in supporting the creation of lasting economic success for Scotland to ensure it is a great place, to live, work and do business. A growing body of evidence shows that building sustainable economic growth that also achieves fairness, equality and opportunity for all is the route to economic success – in short it’s good for Scotland and it’s good for business.
The Scottish Business Pledge captures all the principle drivers of sustainable and inclusive economic growth – an engaged, innovative workforce, commitment to seeking markets outside Scotland and supporting local economy and community. The Business Pledge is a values-led partnership between government and business. Numbers of businesses who have made their commitment to the Business Pledge has grown steadily since its introduction in 2015, with almost 500 businesses signed up so far. The Business Pledge recognises and celebrates those businesses who are delivering increased productivity and competitveness by adopting fair work policies and progressive business practices.
In March Ministers confirmed their commitment to the Business Pledge and announced a short review to explore ways to help the Business Pledge to evolve, building scale and impact, by making it more accessible to business.
The review will continue over the summer and we are keen to hear your views. We will be listening to businesses around three key themes:
Experience – awareness and perception of the Business Pledge
Elements – which of the nine principles or elements make most sense to you or are particularly challenging for your business
Future – how can the Business Pledge evolve to encourage you to take part in this growing network of businesses
We would love to hear your views on the Scottish Business Pledge.
