MSIP Sustainable Mobility & Low Carbon Innovation Accelerator

The MSIP Sustainable Mobility & Low Carbon Innovation Accelerator is the first activity happening at the recently launched Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP). An initiative that has surged from the shutdown of the Dundee Michelin factory, and is an example of how something negative can be converted into something with a promising
future if there is drive, ambition and willingness.

The programme is not just another business accelerator. The MSIP Accelerator has a clear purpose and ambition aligned with those fighting against climate change. MSIP wants to enable a more sustainable transport ecosystem in Scotland by supporting those SMEs working in new technologies and solutions.

We need your help to identify those solutions to be fast tracked so we can build national connections, networks and provide peer support – all to benefit our economy, environment and joint entrepreneurial cause.

Target Participants
Companies primarily engaged in developing products and services in sustainable mobility as part of the low carbon energy sector. Organisations must be a SME. Open to all geographic areas, UK and abroad. Companies are expected to have an investor ready proposition and/or validated prototypes (if developing products).

16-week programme running from 19th October 2020 to March 2021.

This is a fully funded programme, with a stipend of up to £7,500 per company, plus up to £1,500 for technical requirements if needed.

This Accelerator will be delivered by Elevator, one of Scotland’s leading business support organisations. Elevator works across Scotland to help facilitate the start-up, acceleration and growth of new and existing businesses. It has a proven track record of success through its unique delivery of Business Gateway services and a range of other accelerator programmes, some of which are delivered at its Centres for Entrepreneurship in Aberdeen and Dundee.

In addition, Elevator will engage the support of specialist sector delivery partners Ricardo and Productiv. With the
technical know-how and global networks, each will act as catalysts to ensure clear development, commercial and
marketing pathways exist, and that each company has the potential to grow and scale.

Follow up engagement activities will not only be with Elevator and partners but with different external MSIP’s partners such as The University of Dundee, The University of St. Andrews and other private sector companies.

Location & Method
On-site through workshops, seminars and desk-work at our newest accelerator centre within MSIP, Dundee. Blended delivery using video conferencing tools will be utilised during the early stages due to the current health situation.
