There is an urgent need for personal protective equipment (PPE) for front line workers to allow them to carry out their service as safely as possible.
Items that are currently required:
- Single use face masks
- Fluid repellant face masks
- Disposable aprons
- Nitrile or latex gloves – small, medium and large
If you are able to donate, please email Angus Council Emergency Centre to co-ordinate a drop off or collection.
Your donation will be used by Angus Council and its partners.
HSE has provided guidance on PPE donations:
- If it is surplus PPE stocks being donated, then it should be in date and have been stored in conditions recommended by the manufacturer – otherwise further testing would need to be completed to demonstrate it was still suitable and will provide the protection required.
- If it is in date and storage conditions could be verified or the boxes look undamaged/unopened then it would be a case of ensuring that the PPE was suitable for use in terms of specification required by current guidance e.g. FFP3 or a Type IIR surgical mask, compatible with other PPE worn e.g. visors. Tight-fitting FFP3 respirators would need to be fit tested if the model was different to that which the wearer had previously passed a fit test.
