Clean Energy Transition Partnership Research and Innovation Funding Call

The latest Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) Research and Innovation funding call will open the on 11 June 2025.

The CETP offers Scottish companies the opportunity to work with other organisations from 30 different countries on collaborative research and innovation projects that support the energy transition.
Scottish universities and research organisations are also eligible to apply when partnering with a Scottish company.

This funding is open to companies in the Scottish Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise Regions.

The CETP has already supported projects in areas including Energy Generation, Energy Storage including Hydrogen, CCUS, Energy Systems and Networks, Heating and Cooling, Built Environment and Geothermal.

In 2025 there will be a total budget of €3.5m to support successful Scottish applications.

The webinar will be of interest to both large and small companies and research organisations.

This webinar will introduce the CETP, including the nine funding areas that Scotland is supporting.

It will also give an overview of the:

  • eligibility criteria
  • application and evaluation processes
  • support available for Scottish applicants
  • partner search and brokerage support

There are nine module areas in 2025 that project proposals can be submitted to.

These are:

  • Multi-vector interactions between the integrated energy system and industrial frameworks
  • Energy system flexibility: renewables production, storage and system integration
  • Advanced renewable energy (RE) technologies for power production
  • Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS)
  • Hydrogen and renewable fuels
  • Heating and cooling technologies
  • Integrated regional energy systems
  • Integrated industrial energy systems
  • Clean energy integration in the built environment
