Angus Farmer in New Advert for Scotch Meat

Two Scottish livestock farmers are featured in a new TV advert to promote Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb.

The ad, which will run on STV until February 2, features Hazel McNee from Over Finlarg Farm, near Tealing and Sutherland sheep farmer Joyce Campbell from Armadale Farm.

It forms part of a Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) campaign to promote the benefits of red meat to customers in January – the same month as the Vegunary initiative, which encourages people to adopt a vegan diet.

“This TV campaign is an excellent opportunity to communicate the facts about the Scottish red meat industry and deliver an all-industry push back on recent unbalanced, and often inaccurate, coverage,” said Lesley Cameron from QMS.

She said the 60-second advert, which can be viewed at qmscotland.co.uk, showcased Scotland’s suitability for livestock farming and the health benefits from red meat.

“Scotch Beef PGI, Scotch Lamb PGI and Specialty Selected Pork are reared on our doorstep here in Scotland, so customers who are buying it can be assured that when they see the logo, the produce has been locally farmed and reared to our exacting high standards and can be enjoyed as part of a healthy, balanced diet,” added Ms Cameron.
