Arbikie Raises a Glass to Singapore Deal

Angus based Arbikie Distillery has signed a deal to bring its products to Singapore.

The Lunan Bay firm’s deal with Spun Spirits is for its 194 expression of Highland Rye, the world’s only rye Scotch whisky.

Director Iain Stirling said: “We have been working very hard to expand globally and this new deal is a good start for us in the booming Asian whisky market.

“It’s an exciting time at Arbikie as we look for further expansion in Asia and the Middle East.”

Last month Arbikie said it was anticipating a big boost to revenue after teaming up with North America’s largest distributor, Southern Glazer.

When the distillery launched its first limited edition Highland Rye in 2018, it was the first time rye Scotch had been produced in more than a century.

After another limited edition run last year, Arbikie is now launching 1794 Highland Rye, which has been matured in American oak casks.

The firm will officially launch 1794 and celebrate Burns Night on Monday 25 January with a virtual event.

The Stirling family has been involved in farming for more than 400 years and now brothers, Iain, John, Sandy and David are celebrating their farm’s celebrated history of field-to-bottle distillation from as far back as 1794.
