Denfind Stone Quarry’s Future Secured for 50 Years

An Angus quarry’s future has been assured for the next 50 years after councillors agreed to allow it to expand its operations on a site close to Monikie.

Denfind Stone, which operates out of Pitairlie Quarry, has been granted permission to begin quarry works on land north of its existing site to the west of the B961 south of the village.

Over a number of phases, the firm aims to refill its existing site with earth and move to the new one to seek out sandstone, which it supplies to developers for cladding, flooring and walls.

Councillors voted unanimously to grant permission for the works to go ahead, with 18 conditions attached to safeguard local amenity.
