Cookery Schools, an opportunity for Agritourism?

23 September 2024, 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Westerton Farm is investigating setting up a cookery school as part of being one of the Agritourism Monitor Farmers.

Fiona Smith and Caroline Millar are travelling to Ireland mid September to visit Ballymalloe Cookery School. Ballymaloe is one of the most famous Cookery Schools in Europe and is also a working farm providing real ‘farm to fork’ cookery experiences.

Fiona will present feedback on the visit to Ballymalloe and her first hand experience of the two and a half day farm to fork experience. Fiona will also update those attending on where Westerton are with their own plans for a cookery school.

Please arrive at 10.00am for an 10.30am start with a 3.30pm finish.

Tea and coffee provided. For lunch, you will be able to purchase a takeaway lunch from the Farm to Table Shop onsite or if you prefer you can bring a packed lunch with you.

The meeting itself is free to attend and all agritourism, rural tourism and rural food and drink businesses are welcome as well as farmers and crofters considering agritourism.
