Event Description

New to Innovate UK funding? This session breaks down how IUK grants work: what’s available, how applications are assessed, and what separates the ones that get funded from the ones that don’t.

We’ll cover the fundamentals: how to find the right competition for your business, what assessors are really looking for, how to structure a strong application, and the common mistakes that cost people marks. You’ll also get a clear picture of what “innovation” means in IUK’s terms, because it’s not always what founders expect.

Led by Chloe Sharp, co-founder of Sharp Insights, Innovate UK assessor and past grant writer, reviewer and coach, who has helped clients secure over £10m in grant funding. Whether you’re pre-revenue or scaling, this session will give you a practical foundation for approaching IUK funding with confidence.

You’ll come away with: a clear understanding of how the IUK funding landscape works, what makes an application competitive, and whether grant funding is the right route for your business right now.
