Angus is driving a cleaner, greener transport future
Through £5.9m investment from the Tay Cities Region Deal, and Angus Council, Angus is developing new infrastructure that supports the transition to sustainable transport, low‑carbon innovation and cleaner travel for businesses and communities.
The main focus of the project is to
- Accelerate the transition to a lower-carbon transport network for Angus and the Tay Region, support job creation in the low-carbon economy.
- Support meeting carbon emission reduction targets and ambitions set by the Scottish Government, UK Government and Angus Council.
- Deliver savings to businesses in Angus as a result of reduced fuel and maintenance costs from the use of cleaner mobility technologies.
- Identify new uses cases to unlock demand and grow clean refuelling technology and infrastructure deployment in Angus.
- Inspire local people, educate children and young people about opportunities in the clean mobility sector and create inclusive growth through economic opportunities.
The Angus Rural Mobility Hub will be located at Orchardbank Business Park in Forfar, just off the A90/A94 junction. This strategic position places the hub directly on one of Scotland’s key north-south transport corridors, offering easy access for commercial fleets, local businesses, and visitors.
Situated within an established business park and on land owned by Angus Council, the site provides the ideal setting for a modern, clean‑fuel mobility hub – well connected, accessible, and ready to support the region’s shift to low‑carbon transport.
