Building Resilience in Hospitality and Tourism

23 January 2023, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The past few years have devastated Scotland’s Hospitality & Tourism industry, and employers have faced challenges, including the pandemic, spiralling energy and supply costs and staff shortages. This event will focus on the tools at our disposal to weather this ‘perfect storm’ while ensuring staff feel valued and supported.

Aimed at Hospitality & Tourism employers, the event will be an opportunity to reflect on some of the sector’s challenges and explore opportunities to develop resilience through fair work practices.
Attendees will hear from Gordon McIntyre, founder of Hospitality Health – a charity focusing on supporting staff in the fantastic world of Hospitality and helping employers better understand how to ensure employee wellbeing. In addition, a panel of Dundee-based employers sharing their experiences of engaging with Fair Work, including The Selkie and Dundee University Students Association.

The audience will further explore the theme of resilience with a panel of employers, who will speak more about the benefits (as well as challenges) of implementing fair work and sustainable practices in their business.

During the event, attendees will have an opportunity to speak with organisations offering support for businesses within the local area, including Zero Waste Scotland, NHS Public Health Scotland and Business Gateway. Guests are invited to Networking & Nibbles from the end of the session until 6pm.
