Four Champion Awards Nominations for Montrose Community Trust
Montrose Community Trust is celebrating after receiving four finalist nominations at this year’s Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce Champion Awards, recognising both the organisation’s impact across Angus and the exceptional contribution of its staff.
The Trust has been shortlisted in two business categories: Impact Business, People Pioneer Business
Alongside the organisational nominations, two members of the Montrose Community Trust team have also been recognised individually.
Operations Lead Gemma Cruickshank has been shortlisted in the People Pioneer category, while Project Officer Kerry Smith has been named a finalist in the Future Skills category.
The four nominations represent another milestone in the Trust’s continued growth as one of Angus’ leading community organisations, delivering programmes across health and wellbeing, education, employability, football development, climate action and community development.
Chris Platt, CEO of Montrose Community Trust, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to receive these nominations. Recognition like this isn’t something we ever take for granted because it’s a reflection of the collective effort that’s gone into building Montrose Community Trust over many years.
“A few years ago, we probably weren’t telling our story as confidently as we should have been. Today, to be recognised alongside some of the region’s leading businesses and organisations is a real testament to our staff, volunteers, trustees, participants, funders and partners who have all played a part in that journey.
“What makes these nominations even more special is seeing Gemma and Kerry recognised individually. Organisations achieve great things because of great people, and both of them exemplify the passion, professionalism and commitment that exists throughout our team. Their nominations are thoroughly deserved.”
The Trust will join fellow finalists from across Dundee and Angus at the awards ceremony later this year, celebrating excellence in business, innovation and community impact across the region.
Montrose Community Trust also welcomed the opportunity to celebrate alongside a number of partner organisations and friends shortlisted across the various categories, highlighting the strength and collaboration that exists throughout the third sector and business community in Angus.
Chris added:
“We’re grateful to the Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce for this recognition and for the continued support they’ve shown us over the years. We’ll enjoy this moment, but our focus remains exactly where it always has been; continuing to create opportunities, improve lives and strengthen our community.”
The Champion Awards recognise organisations and individuals who demonstrate excellence, innovation and leadership across the Dundee and Angus business community, with winners announced later this year.
