Event Description

This workshop is a practical introduction to charity fundraising, covering where funding actually comes from, how to identify the right funders for your organisation’s legal structure, and what it takes to put together a strong, fundable application. We’ll also cover the compliance and financial groundwork – annual reporting, budgeting, and restricted vs. unrestricted funds— that funders always check first.

Designed for those just starting to explore fundraising as well as organisations already applying for funds who want to strengthen their approach.

What participants will come away with:

  • A clear map of funding sources and types, and which ones suit their organisation’s legal structure (charity, CIC, or Ltd company).
  • The core components of a strong funding application — including how to present beneficiaries and impact convincingly.
  • An understanding of restricted vs. unrestricted funding, and why it matters for how they manage money once they are funded.
  • A simple framework for budgeting and starting a financial policy.
