Kaiser Chiefs revealed as first headliner for Summer’s End Angus 2027

Indie-rock icons Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed as the first headliner for Summer’s End Angus 2027.

The festival will return to Brechin Castle Showgrounds after a successful first running this August.

Over 24,000 admissions were recorded over the three-day event.

Now, Kaiser Chiefs have been revealed as Friday’s headliner for 2027.

The festival will run from Friday August 13 to Sunday August 15.

The announcement comes after an early-bird ticket sale saw nearly 50% of tickets snapped up.

Day tickets for Friday will go on sale tomorrow (September 19). They will cost £58 for adults and £27 for those aged 5-15. Under-5’s go free.

Day tickets for Saturday and Sunday will follow once each day’s line-up is announced.

Other names revealed for the festival so far include Montrose artist Ben Walker, SPRINTS, Nathan Smoker and Scouting for Girls.

Festival Director Katrina Hutchinson O’Neill said:

“Our main stage is all about a mix of internationally recognisable names, and featured artists who are making big waves as ones to watch.

“Friday has a rock and indie spine, Saturday is heavier on pop and radio playlist artists, and Sunday is a mixture of firm fan favourites with some big heavy hitting artists to bring the weekend to a great close.

“We’ve also looked at the popularity of some of our 2026 acts and created stages for 2027 around what people loved. Friday and Saturday have dedicated stages for 80s, 90s and 00s upbeat energy and fun.

“Saturday has an alt and indie stage, and Sunday has a dedicated rock and metal stage.

“We’re also introducing a dedicated dance stage on the Friday which will feature a line-up curated by acclaimed DJ and producer DNMO.

“We’ve kept the family friendly appeal with our Little Brechin stage featuring family acts in the earlier part of the day and showcasing a mix of up and coming Scottish talent and some crowd favourites in the evenings.

“It’s about creating a multi-genre and multi-generational festival weekend – there’s genuinely something for almost everyone. We believe festivals should be a place for fun & memories as much as they are about the big names and discovering amazing new music.”
