Families first as Scots festival slashes ticket prices by 15% thanks to government tax concession

A major new Scottish music festival has slashed family ticket prices by 15%- passing the full benefit of a Government VAT reduction directly to its customers.

Summer’s End Angus, which lands at Brechin Castle Showfield from 14-16 August, has confirmed every youth ticket and every adult ticket bought as part of a family order will be reduced. Under-5s go free across every ticket tier- and that includes camping.

The Government has cut VAT on eligible summer family event tickets and child meals from 20% down to 5%, and Summer’s End Angus has confirmed it is not keeping a penny of the saving for itself. The new prices will be live on the festival website on Monday 25th May.

And it’s not just for new purchases- festival bosses confirmed that anyone who has already bought an eligible family ticket will be contacted in the coming weeks by the festival team once HMRC confirms the permitted reimbursement options.

The family of four savings:

  • £69 off a full 3-day festival weekend with 3 nights camping (now £392.70 for two adults + two kids aged 5-15)
  • £28 off a Saturday or Sunday day-ticket family bundle (now £156.40 for two adults + two kids aged 5-15)
  • Under-5s FREE across every ticket tier

Festival Director Katrina Hutchinson-O’Neill said:

“The biggest family party weekend in the north-east this summer just got even better. We built Summer’s End Angus to be the best-value festival hitting Scotland this summer- and in the current climate, we absolutely know that the value for money matters just as much to everyone as a knock-your-socks-off lineup and a great experience at the event.”

And on that lineup, Katrina said smiling:

“Honestly, our lineup is insanely good- to the point that there are still people asking us every week whether these are the real bands! We’ve had folks who bought tickets genuinely thinking they were cover bands. They’re not- they are all 100% the real deal.”

The real deal – 100% confirmed:

  • The Jacksons (flying in — only Scottish festival date 2026)
  • Sugababes
  • UB40
  • Emeli Sandé
  • Susan Boyle
  • Skerryvore
  • Paris Paloma
  • Pixie Lott
  • Rudimental (closing Saturday with full European-style live production set)
  • Right Said Fred
  • Judge Jules Live Band
  • The Shambolics
  • Sandi Thom
  • Cammy Barnes
  • plus over 50 other amazing acts across a family stage, rock and indie stage, talks stage, and a double main stage – meaning the music flows non-stop all weekend.

Demand has been so high for campervans that Campervan pitches sold out twice, forcing the team to rezone the entire camping site. Fewer than 20 campervan spots remaining, and no more rezoning is possible. Glamping sold out in April, but a second supplier has stepped in with 50 extra
glamping tents to top up stock for customers who want to camp with a proper bed and a bit of luxury.

The camping and glamping village includes on-site saunas, ice baths, communal BBQ areas, and free morning yoga and stretching sessions- an experience more commonly associated with continental European festivals than UK ones.

Summer’s End Angus takes place at Brechin Castle Showfield from 14-16 August 2026. The festival is built around a multi-generational programming philosophy, with opportunities to bring everyone together for a joyful and fun weekend. The festival also features a wide variety of gourmet food and drinks offerings and for ease of access in addition to camping options there is on-site pre-bookable parking and pre-payable shuttle buses running from an array of locations across the North East and Perthshire.
